Tech Jobs Sector Expected To Expand

Chief technology officers who sometimes feel that having third and fourth arms grafted on is almost a necessity can take some comfort from conclusions reached by the U.S. Department of Labor. The Department of Labor found that more hiring should occur in the industry.
Carol Sorgen wrote earlier this week, "According to the U.S. Department of Labor's predictions for the fastest-growing careers, technology in any number of forms is almost a sure bet."
Sorgen then added, "Among the IT jobs most in demand . . . are computer software engineers; computer support specialists; network and computer systems administrators; data communications analysts; desktop publishers; database administrators; computer systems analysts; medical records and health information technicians; computer and information systems managers; and computer and information scientists and researchers."
So hopefully help is on the way for overworked CTOs, and maybe said CTOs will get quite a lot of leeway when it comes to hiring specialists.
Also, given the iffy state of the economy, perhaps it'll remain easy for CTOs to find qualified applicants. Having permission to hire someone wouldn't do organizations much good if everyone was happily employed, after all.
We'll see what happens. It's difficult to imagine a more trustworthy source of information than the Department of Labor.
